Overview
Our client is looking for a lawyer with a sound understanding of copyright laws, preferably relating to sound recordings. You will be part of the leadership team and responsible for legal counsel for Asia. Key responsibilities will include monitoring, interpreting and influencing relevant political and regulatory developments (including drafting submissions on improvements in copyright and other laws impacting the recorded music industry), driving IP enforcement initiatives, attending to company secretarial matters, advising on music licensing activities and general legal support to the client’s operational activities. You will work with stakeholders in London and Asia and must have experience working across different cultures and nationalities. To be successful, you need excellent written and spoken English communication skills and be comfortable with public speaking and training junior lawyers. Mandarin language highly preferred.
